Curtis Barrier is a specialist engineering company that consults, designs and installs engineering grade lining systems to meet international and environmental standards whilst ensuring practical construction solutions to client objectives.
Liner selection will depend upon many factors such as: operational life, exposure to sun light, chemicals, application , installation approach, design features, subgrade surface preparations, groundwater, access, weather implications and costs.
Various liners have advantages and limitations and a review of the liners application will determine the most suitable selection.
Our liner range includes:
Barrier HDPE geomembranes in either smooth or rough textured are produced from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) resins resulting in premium grade geomembranes. Barrier HDPE liners are widely used products for lining solid waste sites, mines and other fluid containment applications. Barrier HDPE liners are preferred for sites requiring low permeability wide width liner with exceptional chemical and ultraviolet resistance properties. Resistance to weather, ultraviolet rays and chemicals makes their use an extremely cost effective alternative in reservoir construction.
With the addition of a textured surface our HDPE Geomembranes provide high frictional characteristics that are required on steep slopes and stability for cover soil layers. By utilizing a co-extrusion process this textured surface is manufactured homogeneously with the extrusions of the solid barrier portion of the Geomembrane, as opposed to being added after extrusion, thus fully integrating with the sheet during the molten phase of manufacturing. The result is a surface that remains intact regardless of the chemicals which may come in contact with the sheet. Single or double sided textured surface is available.
The addition of textured surface also allows engineers to increase friction between two layers. This also allows for the designing of steeper slopes, resulting in the added capacity of a site.
HDPE Geomembranes do not contain plasticizers that could migrate and cause premature aging of the liner or other environmental factors. They do not need to be buried for protection. HDPE Geomembranes are also resistant to mold, mildew, fungus and chemicals normally found in soil.
While HDPE is manufactured in the standard colour of black, HDPE liners can be manufactured to match any colour requirements you may have, subject to quantity.
Advantages of HDPE Liners:
PE ALLOY LINERS
Curtis Barrier has developed Flexi 750 and Flexi PE 400 liners with high flexibility characteristics. Flexi 750 and Flexi PE 400 Liners are 8m wide and can be factory fabricated up to 3,000sqm in one large sheet.
